چکیده
The rapid development of global telecommunication, cloud computing, big data, consumer electronics create increasing demands to expand the capacity and rate data transmission for next generation broadband optical communication. It raises a great challenge current rare-earth ions doped fiber amplifiers due narrow emission bandwidth ions. In this context, near-infrared (NIR) emitter based are in urgent demand. Here, amplification S + C L bands is achieved first time PbS quantum dot (QD)-doped low-melting-point glass fiber. With pump 976 nm laser, on-off gain QD-doped (PQDF) ranges from 1.4 8.7 dB 1500–1630 nm, while that 6.9 8.4 1530–1630 nm. Both show tunable luminescence covering entire communication windows (O E U). much higher yield QDs than colloidal QDs, ultra-broad controllable make promising applications lasers.

Microstructured chalcogenide optical fibers from As(2)S(3) glass: towards new IR broadband sources.
The aim of this paper is to present an overview of the recent achievements of our group in the fabrication and optical characterizations of As(2)S(3) microstructured optical fibers (MOFs). Firstly, we study the synthesis of high purity arsenic sulfide glasses. Then we describe the use of a versatile process using mechanical drilling for the preparation of preforms and then the drawing of MOFs i...

متن کاملThrough a Glass Brightly: Low-Loss Fibers for Optical Communications
Technological breakthroughs develop through years of scientific collaboration and innovation, each discovery built upon the failures and successes of earlier work. Such was the case with the work on the first low-loss optical fiber. What began with three Corning scientists searching for a communications solution ultimately created what is now known to be a key to the Information Age. In 1948, C...
متن کاملGlass Fibers
GLASS FIBERS are among the most versatile industrial materials known today. They are readily produced from raw materials, which are available in virtually unlimited supply (Ref 1). All glass fibers described in this article are derived from compositions containing silica. They exhibit useful bulk properties such as hardness, transparency, resistance to chemical attack, stability, and inertness,...
